The 17th European Tourism Forum will be held on 1st and 2nd October 2018.
The event is organised by the Austrian Presidency of the Council of the European Union together with the European Commission and will take place at the Austria Center Vienna. Tourism stakeholders from all EU countries will come together on two half days to discuss the following topics of importance:
Monday, 1 October 2018, afternoon
We will draw a vivid picture of the fast-changing, interconnected and dynamic environment decision makers in tourism have to face. How will megatrends such as digital and technological progress, demographic developments and evolving global visitor demand and travel patterns, as well as the shift to low-carbon and resource efficiency shape the future of tourism?
The debate will be followed by an evening event at Palais Niederösterreich.
Tuesday, 2 October 2018, morning
We will discuss how tourism stakeholders respond to current/emerging challenges in their strategic planning in order to achieve sustainable tourism development and keep the sector competitive. We will address selected key issues and look at successful tourism strategies with regard to processes, partnerships and networks.
The official invitation and a detailed programme will follow in due course.
