The TUI Group Corporate Office EU is organising this Policy Breakfast, officially part of the #EUGreenWeek 2019, on:
“Sustainable tourism: What is the role of green certification to improve sustainability impacts”
This event will be the opportunity to discuss about sustainability in tourism and focus on the role of certification to drive environmental and social performance. TUI will share insights on its sustainability strategy and showcase how certification forms a key part of it. Thereafter the guest speaker from DGNB will present their international certification scheme and bring it to life with innovative examples from a TUI hotel. The European Commission will present sustainable tourism actions under EU tourism policy, and highlight existing European initiatives such as EU Ecolabel, ETIS and EMAS. There will be an opportunity for policy and industry stakeholders to discuss how sustainable approaches could be adopted more widely.
