Legambiente was founded in 1980, heir of the first groups of environmentalists and anti-nuclear movement that developed in Italy and throughout the Western world in the late '70s. Legambiente is a non-profit organization, the activities that we organize voluntary commitment are the result of thousands of citizens who with tenacity, imagination and creativity are committed to keep attention focused on environmental emergencies in the country.

  Legambiente is the Italian environmental organization with an unrivaled presence in the area: over 115,000 members and supporters, 1,000 local groups, 30,000 classes participating in environmental education programs, more than 3,000 young people each year participate in our volunteer camps, over 60 natural areas managed directly or in partnership with other local entities.

Since 1997 Legambiente has a tourism sector that follows the policies of sustainable development of tourist areas of the country and offers an eco-label to tourist facilities.
