Mr Josep Rodrígues from the Province of Barcelona, intervened on behalf of NECSTouR to the EuroVelo and Cycle Tourism Conference 2018. The conference was organised this year in Belgian Limburg on September 26th – 28th, in the framework of the World Tourism Day (27 September 2018).

NECSTouR initiative on Cultural Tourism. At the end of his intervention, Mr Rodrígues presented the NECSTouR initiative "Better Places to Live, Better Places to Visit", to inspire new principles to face the social impact of tourism through a sustainable tourism management and the valorisation of the Cultural Heritage. He also invited all the participants to attend the upcoming conference under that initiative - "Local-Led Initiatives on Tourism and Cultural Heritage: a Legacy for Europe" - to be organised in Brussels on the 11th of October in the framework of the European Week of Regions and Cities and of the European Year for Cultural Heritage 2018.

EU leading cycle tourism conference. The conference gathered exchanges and experiences from around 150 participants from 29 countries. Participants were all the leading European cycle tourism actors, but also professionals from the Sustainable Tourism sector.

Study Visit. Mr Rodrígues participated also on the study visit along the Meuse river, learning how to manage and signpost a cross-border Bike Route between Belgium and the Netherlands.
