Destination of Sustainable Cultural Tourism Awards 2019 Conferred in Granada

 

The city of Granada (Andalusia), hosted from the 24th to the 26th of October the 12th International Conference of Cultural Tourism in Europe, organized by the ECTN (European Network of Cultural Tourism) and awarded on behalf of NECSTouR and Andalusia Region the 3 winning destinations of the Sustainable Cultural Tourism award 2019 in the category of “Wine Tourism”.

 

NECSTouR role. In the framework of its strategic cooperation with ECTN and other organisations active in the field of tourism and culture, NECSTouR was part of the jury who selected the winners of the Sustainable Cultural Tourism award of this year.

The awards in the category of “Wine Tourism” has been delivered by the representatives of the hosting city, on behalf of NECSTouR and its member of Andalusia in the incomparable setting of Carmen de los Martires, in the heart of the Grenada’s Alhambra

The winners in that category were InterLoire (France, 1st price), the Tourist board of the Motovun Municipality (Croatia, 2nd price) and Pôle d'Equilibre Territorial et Rural du Pays d'Armagnac (France, 3rd price).

This year’s edition of the conference coincided with the closing of the CHRISTA Project aimed at promoting Cultural Heritage, as an engine of a sustainable and innovative tourism, funded by the EU.
