NECSTouR participated for the first time to the UNWTO Commission for Europe in quality of UNWTO Affiliated Member.
The 61st UNWTO Commission for Europe, was held in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova on 6 June 2017. This annual statutory meeting was aimed to provide to the European Members of the UNWTO with an overview of the 2016 – 2017 achievements and the priority areas for collaboration and challenges to address for the upcoming work programme 2018 – 2019.
Also, the meeting was an excellent occasion for Member States and Affiliated Members to share their initiatives on the IYSTD and their progresses towards the implementation of the UN Agenda 2030.
During the open floor session devoted to the IYSTD, NECSTouR intervened to share the main initiatives being undertaken during this year which are contributing to the IYSTD priority areas and express the willingness of the Members to cooperate along the journey towards the 2030 Agenda.
The final decision of the issues on the agenda will be taken during the UNWTO General Assembly in China, on the 11th September 2017.
