UNWTO Launches ‘Travel.Enjoy.Respect’ Campaign

 

As we celebrate 2017 as the International Year on Sustainable Tourism for Development, the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) is officially launched a consumer consumer-oriented campaign: ‘Travel.Enjoy.Respect’,  aimed at raising awareness of the value and contribution that sustainable tourism can make towards development and the 17 SDGs.

Condolences and solidarity with Barcelona and Cambrils

 

NECSTouR expresses its condolences and solidarity with Barcelona, Cambrils and the whole Catalonia Region in this sad moment and sends a message of unity and peace against terrorism.

Our thoughts are with the victims and their families.

This is why it invites you to share your initiative on that topic.

UNWTO has so far received more than 700 initiatives, celebrations and innovative solutions that contribute to creating more decent jobs, to protecting biodiversity, to empowering communities, and to advancing sustainable tourism.

EU Regions Week 2017: discover the programme and register

 

Over 130 workshops, networking events and project visits are organised in Brussels as part the 15th European Week of Regions and Cities (9-12 October 2017).

Under the headline 'Regions and cities working for a better future’, the programme tackles three main themes:

Call for interested regions on HIKING EUROPE

 

By the end of Sepember 2017, the  HIKING EUROPE  project (co-financed by COSME programme) aiming  to promote a transnational network of rural touristic routes structured in several hiking itineraries across Europe and gathering 8 members from 6 different EU countries: Spain (Catalonia), Italy (Emilia- Romagna), Croatia (Dubrovnik-Neretva), Ireland (Donegal), Austria and Germany,  arrives to its end.

The occasion was the Event on “The Future of Tourism in Europe” organized by the Eu Public Policy Exchange on the 4th of July in Brussels

NECSTouR presents at the 6th UNWTO International Conference on Tourism Statistics

 

Between the 21st and 24 of June, UNWTO has organized the 6th International Conference on Tourism Statistics focusing on Measuring Sustainable Tourism at sub-national levels.

The conference gathered High Level speakers who were debating on important topics related to the possible measurements of sustainable tourism. Attention has been paid to the increased need of creating a statistical framework to facilitate such process, but also on measuring different dimensions of tourism sustainability.

"Promoting European Sustainable Tourism for All" at the European Parliament

 

NECSTouR took the debate about the promotion of an European Sustainable Tourism for all at the European Parliament on the 20th of June though a well participated thematic public conference.

As MEP De Monte stated on her introductory remarks, the goal of this event was to animate a debate and to provide suggestions to the main European and Regional policy-makers on such an importan topic.
