Regional Cases on the Collaborative Economy Presented at the European Commission

 

During the last meeting organised by DG GROW on the "Collaborative Short -Term Accommodation Rental Services" NECSTouR has been invited to present the available policy means by nine of its member Region, to protect the identified policy objectives.

Objectives and Priorities of NECSTouR Presented to Central Denmark

 

What is NECSTouR? Which are its Objectives and Priorities? Which are the main possible reasons of interest for the Region of Central-Denmark and its main stakeholders?

Mrs Cristina Nunez from the Permanent Secretariat of NECSTouR had the opportunity to reply to all this questions during a webinar organised by the Central Denmark Region.

NECSTouR's Presidency at ITB Berlin

 

"Innovative Nation Branding: Creative Economies, Sustainable Tourism & Responsible Foreign Investments" is the title of the intervention of Mr Patrick Torrent at the Annual Conference on Cultural Diplomacy, on the 9th of March at the ITB event in Berlin.

On the previous day, Mr Torrent attended the UNWTO session on the "so-called sharing economy" as well.

 

MITOMED+ Project is now beginning!

 

NECSTouR and the other partners attended in Florence the kick-off meeting of MITOMED+ Project on the 2nd and 3rd of March 2017.

The main objective of this new project is to enhance the sustainability and responsibility in Maritime and Coastal Tourism, setting up a MED tourism management model in this field.

Flanders Region Kick off Event 2017 IYSTD

The Kick off Event on the 2017 IYSTD organized by the Region of Flanders aimed at discussing and exchanging on the Sustainable Tourism contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The 17 SDGs are framed under the Agenda 2030 of the United Nations and fall under the 5Ps: People, Planet, Profit, Peace and Partnership.

NECSTouR awarded for its special commitment for the Balkans

 

NECSTouR has been the special guest of the last Gala dinner, organised by the Balkan Alliance of Hotel Associations (BAHA) on the 23rd of February in Belgrade.

Barcelona's Declaration Presented at the European Commission

 

The European Commission officially launched the Project on Accommodation Rental Services with an Open Plenary and a first Workshop on the "Market Access Requirement for Accommodation Providers" organised in Brussels on the 14th of February.

NECSTouR's Working Group on Digital Platforms actively participated to both the events.

 

The #TOURISM17 campaign

The Responsible Tourism Institute launches the #TOURISM17 campaign, an initiative that seeks to promote sustainability as a new development model in which all  tourism stakeholders from tourism agents to travellers, are decisively involved.

This campaigns is launched under the framework of the United Nations 2017 International Year for Sustainable Tourism Development by adapting the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) to tourism.

How to participate:

Revised EU Ecolabel on Tourism Accomodation

 

The European Commission has adopted on January 2017 a revised set of criteria for the service group "Tourism Accommodation" under the EU Ecolabel.  This will contribute to the continued efforts of providing companies and consumers with a credible ecolabel to promote sustainable consumption and production, enhancing circular economy within Europe.

NECSTouR's intervention on measurability at subnational level at the UNWTO

 

The Committee on Sustainable Tourism Statistics of the UNWTO held its seventeen meeting on the 24th and 25th of January at the UNWTO headquarters in Madrid.

This Committee gathers 65 representatives of national statistics Institutes committed to the project Statistical Framework Measuring Sustainable Tourism: the “SF MST”. More info about the meeting can be found at the following link http://statistics.unwto.org/committeestsa_17thmeeting
