Cristina Nunez, Coordinator of the NECSTouR Permanent Secretariat, intervened at the last Exchange of views on "Tourism for Growth&Jobs Manifesto", organised by the Tourism Task Force of the European Parliament's Committee on Transport and Tourism.
NECSTouR intervention was part of the opening remarks and aknowleged its important role into the Manifesto's Steering Committee.

NECSTouR and the European Commission DG GROW jointly organized the seminar on "Better use of EU funding opportunities for tourism and the visitor economy" in Brussels.

At this event sustainability and accessibility were presented as complementary strategies to successfully manage and promote tourism destinations.
The purpose of the event was to:
1. present the results of the second ETIS pilot testing phase, including recommendations and the revised toolkit of ETIS
2. identify policy priorities for accessible tourism in destinations, in particular focusing on accommodation, transport, attractions and customer satisfaction
The RH Corona del Mar (Benidorm, Alicante) has defined its first initiatives to improve the hotel energy efficiency and performance according neZEH status: Installing presence sensors, Implementation of an ozone system in the laundry to save hot water and reduce the use of detergents and chemicals and Replacing minibars by other models of lower energy consumption, among others.
Our member SiTI - Higher Institute on Territorial Systems for Innovation, Italian partner of the neZEH- Nearly Zero Energy Hotels, project with NECStouR , has identified the two Italian neZEH pilot cases.
A few weeks ago, the hotel owners signed the agreement with the team of the European project, agreeing to get involved and beginning the process that will lead them to become the first Nearly Zero Energy Hotels in Italy.
From the 24th to 26th of June, NECSTouR is involved into 3 important events regarding Climate Change and Sustainable Tourism, taking place in the South of France (Nice and Gréoux-les-Bains):
