ETOA Seminar | Cultural Travel Portrait: past, present and future

In this seminar our expert speakers will look at where Spain sits in a European tourism context, what the latest trends are in terms of product and delivery and how it can continue to hold its position as one of Europe’s top cultural destinations. The event is designed for destinations and operators alike and will offer examples from elsewhere in Europe using our broad experience, as well as exploring what attracts markets from around the world. Mr. José Luis Maestro, Leading the NECSTouR’s Working Group on Cultural Tourism will attend the event.

The Summer School Local Food Heritage as a Prerequisite of Sustainable Food Tourism Development

The Summer School Local Food Heritage as a Prerequisite of Sustainable Food Tourism Development will take place in Prague from August 26th till September 2nd, 2017 and is a part of activities included to UNWTO calendar of activities for the International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development. We prepared an intensive week-long program focused on sustainable tourism development, food tourism, and new media. The Summer School is a unique opportunity to study tourism in English in a historical center of Prague while using modern learning methods.

EICR Governing Board Meeting in Luxembourg

This year, the EICR Governing Board is meeting in Luxembourg in the 27th and 28 of April, and NECSTouR representatives will take part at this event.

Meeting 'Camino del Santiago Friends'

This meeting took place in Brussels, on the 10th of May, when a group of 25 members of the "Camino del Santiago Amigos" Association visited the Belgium capital and NECSTouR representatives has been invited to talk about our network

1st International UNWTO Western Silk Road Workshop

The UNWTO Silk Road Programme is a collaborative initiative designed to enhance sustainable tourism development along the historic Silk Road route. It aims to maximize the benefits of tourism development for local Silk Road communities, while stimulating investment and promoting the conservation of the route's natural and cultural heritage. Additionally, it is working to foster greater co- operation between Silk Road countries and regions, with the established aim of creating a seamless and memorable Silk Road travel experience.

6th Advisory Forum “Expanding the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe: challenges and opportunities”

Mr José Luis Maestro from the region of Galicia represented NECSTouR at this Forum, as responsible for the NECSTouR Working Group on Cultural Tourism and Cultural Sustainability.

Synergies between European Cultural Routes and NECSTouR presented at the "Amigos do Camiño de Santiago" Association

May 12, 2017

 

On the 10th of May, Mrs Cristina Nunez, from the Permanent Secretariat of NECSTouR, met with 25 representatives of the "Amigos do Camiño de Santiago" (Friends of the Saint James' Way) at the "Galicia Europa" Foundation in Brussels.

She explained our initiatives on Competitive and Sustainable Tourism, focusing on the main challenges for managers of European Itineraries in contemporary Europe and which opportunities NECSTouR can provide.
