INTERNAL CONSULTATION: Hearing About Brexit and Tourism


The next Meeting of the European Parliament's Commission for Transport and Tourism - TRAN - will gather in Brussels on the 25 April 2018.
For that occasion, the TRAN Secretariat is preparing a hearing about the impact of Brexit in the tourism of EU.

Tourism Task Force - Exchange of view with the Secretary-General of UNWTO


On the occasion of the next Tourism Task Force meeting, TRAN Members will analyse the tourism sector’s key results and trends in the EU in 2017, and look at its main future challenges. Members will exchange views with the newly elected Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Mr Zurab Pololikashvili, and review the broader global picture. Eurostat will present its latest statistical data on tourism, and the Commission will present its future plans for the sector.

Kick-Off meeting of the 16th European Week of Regions and Cities


The Kick-Off meeting of the 16th European Week of Regions and Cities will be organised on Thursday 25 January at 11 o'clock, to be followed by a reception, at the European Committee of the Regions, Rue Belliard 101, Brussels.

Registration to attend the Kick-off Meeting is open until 15 January, 12.00.

Trends & Dynamics'17 - Mega Drivers for Future Tourism


The Trends&Dynamics, an international conference on tourism organized by the MEP Cláudia Monteiro de Aguiar in Lisbon, celebrates this year its 3rd edition.

The Portuguese Member of the Parliament, member of parliamentary Committee of Transport and Tourism, chair of the tourism Working Group and vice president of the SME Europe, has the pleasure to host once again in Portugal the sector's national and international policy makers and stakeholders to debate major trends and the future of tourism.

NECSTouR and South Limburg presented their 6 A's for a Sustainable Tourism at the European Tourism Forum 2017

Area, Access, Accommodation, Attractions, Awareness and Activation are the six A's for the energy efficiency, protection of natural resources and environmentally friendly measures towards a more Sustainable Tourism which Ms Anya Niewierra - Director of South Limburg Tourism Board - presented at the 16th European Forum in Tallin.

Per each of that six A's Ms Niewierra presented some good practices from South Limburg (in the Netherlands) and other NECSTouR member Regions.

At the occasion of the World Tourism Day 2017, Mr Patrick Torrent - NECSTouR President, Region of Catalonia – intervened during the High-level conference on Tourism "A European strategy to enhance the competitiveness of the tourism industry, a key driver for job creation" organised by the President of the European Parliament, Mr Antonio Tajani, on the 27th of September in Brussels.
