The Permanent Secretariat of NECSTouR attended the event "Celebrating new UNESCO World Heritage sites in Europe" of 15 November, organised by Mrs Elżbieta Bieńkowska, Commissioner for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs.

 

High Level Tourism Reception: "Towards a stronger Tourism Policy for European Growth and Jobs"

The event has been hosted by NECSTouR and the Intergroup for Tourism Development.

 

At the end of the event, a joint Political Declaration for supporting tourism as EU policy has been signed by the Member of the European Parliament and the High level Policy makers from NECSTouR member regions.

The European Commission organised this 2016 edition of the European Tourism Day in Brussels on 29 November 2016 under the theme “Enhancing synergies between tourism and cultural and creative industries. Innovative solutions as the driver for jobs and growth”.

14th European Week of Regions and Cities

The event has been organised from the 10th to the 13rd of October 2016 at the European Committee of the Regions in Brussels.

This is the annual opportunity to focus on the challenges currently facing Europe's regions and cities. Under the headline ‘Regions and cities for sustainable and inclusive growth’, some 100 sessions, seminars and meetings has been organized alongside the following thematic strands: Sustained and sustainable economic growth Inclusive economic growth Making ESI Funds simpler

Call for contribution to the Policy Paper “Tourism as a driving force for regional cooperation across the EU”

The European Committee of Regions, Commission for Natural Resources (Tourism), is working on the opinion “Tourism as a driving force for regional cooperation across the EU”.

The opinion’s rapporteur, Mr. Hanspeter Wagner, Mayor of Breitenwang, Tirol, Austria invites NECSTouR Members to contribute to this policy paper, before it is adopted on the 27th of September.
