NECSTouR Presidency intervened during the Session on Training and Education in Tourism by sharing:

European Tourism Day (ETD) 2012

This year's edition of the European Tourism Day will be divided in two topics: Seasonality and Coastal and Maritime Tourism.

During the Morning Session (Seasonality) the president of NECSTouR will present Management models for combating seasonality in tourism destinations: good practices from the network of regions NECSTouR.

Which Future for a Sustainable European Maritime Tourist Industry?

NECSTouR and the CPMR with Vastra Gotaland, PACA and Istria Region are organising a high-level political meeting with representatives of the EU Institutions (Committee of the Regions, European Parliament and European Commission) in order to discuss about the challenges and opportunities for the regional authorities to finance tourism via Structural Funds and in the future COSME programme.

Open Conference on the European Tourism Quality Label

The European Commission is inviting all interested stakeholders to participate in an open conference on 25 January 2012 on the European Tourism Quality Label.

The objective of the event is to summarise the preparatory work done so far as well as to discuss the possible options and the open questions of the implementation.

NECSTouR - European Tourism Policy

A great number of private and public stakeholders at international, European, national, regional and local level are involved in the development of tourism. Given the complexity of tourism which is not easy to separate from other economic sectors, the stakeholders must develop partnerships if they want to stay ahead of competition. The success of the renewed EU policy depends therefore on the active involvement of all tourism stakeholders.
