European Tourism Forum Conference

10-11 October 2016,  Bratislava (Slovakia)

The Slovak Presidency of the Council of the European Union and the European Commission organised this 15th European Tourism Forum which took place on 11th October 2016 in Bratislava, Slovakia.

NECSTouR has been represented by: Vice-President Jan Korthoudt - representing also the whole Belgium; Ms Maria Elena Lacasa - representing the Presidency of NECStouR and the Catalan Government; Mr Tomaso Comazzi from the Permanent Secretariat.

This year's Forum focuses on three priority areas:

"Funding from the Perspective of Regions: Lessons Learned"

Tuesday 12th of July 2016, European Parliament

Last Tuesday 12th of July 2016, NECSTouR intervened at the last Meeting of the EP's Committee on Transport and Tourism, focused on an exchange of views about accessing the EU Funding for Investment in Tourism. Ms. Cristina Nuñez - NECSTouR's Coordinator - delivered a well appreciated presentation entitled: "Funding from the Perspective of Regions: Lessons Learned".

ETIS and Accessible Tourism Conference organised by the European Commission DG GROWTH

At this event sustainability and accessibility were presented as complementary strategies to successfully manage and promote tourism destinations.

The purpose of the event was to:

  1. present the results of the second ETIS pilot testing phase, including recommendations and the revised toolkit of ETIS
  2. identify policy priorities for accessible tourism in destinations, in particular focusing on accommodation, transport, attractions and customer satisfaction
  3. present a promotion strategy for Europe as a 'Sustainable Tourism Destination for All'

Exchange of Views About the "Tourism for Growth & Jobs Manifesto

Cristina Nunez, Coordinator of the NECSTouR Permanent Secretariat, intervened at the last Exchange of views on "Tourism for Growth&Jobs Manifesto", organised by the Tourism Task Force of the European Parliament's Committee on Transport and Tourism.

NECSTouR intervention was part of the opening remarks and aknowleged its important role into the Manifesto's Steering Committee.
