High Level Tourism Reception: "Towards a stronger Tourism Policy for European Growth and Jobs"

The event has been hosted by NECSTouR and the Intergroup for Tourism Development.

 

At the end of the event, a joint Political Declaration for supporting tourism as EU policy has been signed by the Member of the European Parliament and the High level Policy makers from NECSTouR member regions.

European Week of Regions and Cities: Our List of Sessions about Tourism

As usual, NECStouR will dedicate many attention and will actively participate into the 14th European Week of Regions and Cities.
The event will be held from the 10th to the 13rd of October 2016 at the European Committee of the Regions in Brussels. This is the annual opportunity to focus on the challenges currently facing Europe's regions and cities.
Under the headline ‘Regions and cities for sustainable and inclusive growth’, some 100 sessions, seminars and meetings will be organized alongside the following thematic strands:

Good Practice

 

The German Community Speaking of Belgium is using ERDF to support employment and to promote destinations and itineraries while the EARDF to attract new investments.

Examples of this use are:

  • Digitalisation of tourism information
  • Complete revision of hiking trails network and signing (system with points of intersection) which is an ongoing project

 

 

The regional strategy of the operational programme using European Funds for Regional Development in the planning period 2014/2020, related to tourism, is based on 3 pillars:

  1. Innovation and competitiveness for the productive ecosystem, with a particular focus on manufacturing industry pillar and relationship between tourism, cities and cultural drivers.
  2. Improvement of competitiveness linked to environmental sustainability and the use of resources.
  3. Enhance the social dimension in the territorial interventions.
