The Ocean Conference Official Side Event: “EU TOURISM COMMITTED TO BLUE GROWTH”

The United Nations Head Quarters, Conference Building, New York - Conference Room B. NECSTouR co-organises this event, with the UNWTO and the Regions of Västra Götaland and Andalusia.

Europe is certainly one of the most committed region in the world towards the Oceans and SDG14.

The event will take place at 10:00 o'clock on the 15th of May 2017 in the Berlaymont building (Piazza), Brussels.

On Friday 24 February Visit Flander will officially kickoff the UNWTO International Year of Sustainable tourism for Development.

Good Practice

'Hi Belgium Pass' is a common initiative involving different Belgian organizations offering an advantageous travel formula for European Tourists. Starting on the 21th of April 2017, tourists can buy the 'Hi Belgium Pass' and fly from 50 cities in 18 European countries to Brussels Airport, from where they can take unlimited train rides around the country and visit a wealth of tourist attractions for free.

The workshop “The Present and the Future of Sustainable and Responsible Tourism” 24-25 April 2017, Zagreb, was organised by the Croatian Ministry of Tourism and the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Energy under the framework of the 2017  IYSTD.

The opening session gathered messages from the UNWTO, UNEP, EC DG Grow, Croatia Ministry of Tourism and the Institute for Tourism of Zagreb.
