A member of us - Ulf Sonntag, Associate Director, Head of Market Research at the Institute for Tourism Research in Northern Europe - delivered an overview on Data needs of Tourism Destinations from a personal user’s point of view.
The need to adapt current tools and choose them wisely, the importance of trust and the need to combine data of different sources, learnings and personal wishes for official tourism statistics have been all highlighted by Mr Sonntag.

The technical conclusions of this meeting have been presented to the Directors-General of Tourism, that has been organised the same day in the framework of the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
