On 11th of May 10:00-14:00 CET at the Marivaux Hotel (Bd Adolphe Max 98) in Brussels, Interreg MED will host the Networking Event "LABELSCAPE: Integration of Sustainability Labels into Mediterranean Tourism Policies".

The event will consider the role of certification in developing sustainable tourism destinations and aims to help those that are interested in learning more about this topic.

Background information

Tourism destinations all over Europe are facing constant demand to improve the quality of tourism offer, the need to strengthen cooperation between tourism providers and the local community, and the necessity to communicate with the visitors. Tourism sustainability certification is one of the effective instruments that addresses these challenges and shows the destinations’ commitment to follow the principles of sustainable development.

In the framework of project LABELSCAPE, Interreg MED has analysed mechanisms for integrating sustainability labels in wider tourism policies and provided support tools for implementing certification process in the destination.

Agenda for the event

After the presentation of the main project results, a round table with distinguished speakers will follow to discuss the topic of “The future of Sustainable Tourism in the post Covid period”. The event will be concluded with a networking lunch. More information on the agenda will follow soon.
