NECSTouR shares sustainable strategies at the WINTER MED Workshop in Croatia

NECSTouR was invited to take part in the 3rd transnational policy exchange workshop of the Interreg MED on Winter Islands Network for all year round Tourism ExpeRience in the MEDiterranean (WINTER MED). The WINTER MED project presented its final transnational strategy to the audience, a crucial approach in the post-covid tourism ecosystem for NECSTouR. We are ready to support this strategy  through our network and our strategic actions.

Tomaso Comazzi, communication and membership officer of the Permanent Secretariat, went to Poreč (Croatia) to present NECSTouR strategies and opportunities for sustainable tourism actions, like the Sustainable development regional strategy of the Sardinia Region or the Glasgow Declaration supported by Tourism Declares and our member Visit Glasgow. NECSTouR declared the Climate Emergency in Tourism in July 2021 and is developing a Tourism Climate Emergency Plan.

Year-round Competitive & Sustainable Islands Destinations

Our member, the Institute of Agriculture and Tourism in Poreč (IPTPO), and our partner, the Conference of Peripheral Maritime Regions (CPMR) invited NECSTouR to share strategies on Year-round Competitive & Sustainable Islands Destinations, a Horizontal priority for our regions. As both member of the Interreg MED horizontal project on Sustainable Tourism and as associate partner of the WINTER MED project, NECSTouR was happy to participate alongside our colleague dr. Dunja K. Mahne from RDA Green Karst (Slovenia) in the MED Sustainable Tourism Community.
