Various experiences from NECSTouR and its members have been showcased at the “@ttrazione Mare” Workshop. That event has been organised on the 22 October in Livorno by Tuscany Region (NECSTouR founding Region) to identifying good practices and cross-border strategies towards a new sustainable approach for the innovation of the maritime and coastal tourist offer.

Valencian "Smart Beaches Model" has been presented by Alejandro Benito as one of the most relevant wagers in terms of innovation of the tourism offer in Valencia Region, also considering the sustainability point of view as a base of our touristic development.

The Green Beach Model, developed in the framework of MITOMED+ Project, has been presented by two of the Tuscan municipalities that already applied that model: Castiglione della Pescaia and Montignoso. This tool is available for local authorities and beach operators to help them make decisions about the sustainable management of beaches.

Mediterranean Identity. Alexandra Michailidou representing Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, presented another case from another Interreg MED project: ALTER ECO enhanced the local sustainable development of tourism by promoting Mediterranean Identity through the implementation of alternative tourist strategies.

Other NECSTouR members presented their good practices in the field of Sustainable Itineraries (Lara Melucci, Liguria Region) and Smart Destinations (Valentina Marchi, CNR-IBE).

The Workshop’s main outcomes have been summarised in the closing remarks pronounces by Francesco Tapinassi, Tourism Director at the Tuscany Region.

The EcoSTRIM Project is part of the INTERREG Maritime Program between France and Italy and “adresses the challenges of maritime and coastal tourism for the cooperation area”.
