Mr. Tomaso Comazzi, from the Permanent Secretariat and representatives from the other Members involved in this project – Tuscany Region, Andalusia, Porec’s Institute of Agriculture and Turism and the Univesity of Girona - attended the second project meeting of MITOMED+ Project, on the 18 th and 19 th of May, in Larnaca (CY).
“As NECSTouR – Tomaso Comazzi declared – it has been the opportunity to present a series of good practices from Sardinia, Lazio, Veneto and the other members that are partners of this project, about the management of green and sustainable beaches in the MED area.” That innovative initiatives will inspire the drafting of a Green Beach Model, to be applied in the whole area and a summary of them will be published soon on our website. “Moreover – he continued – that the meeting has been an opportunity to agree on how we will coordinate all the external events that will be organise in the framework of this project, to disseminate its main outcomes through the other MED Regions, the European Institutions and the stakeholders.”
The meeting in Larnaca, has been also the occasion to present and discuss the revised Gap analysis, the destinations selected for the testing, the open platform for collection and sharing of indicators and to find an agreement on the development of this upcoming phases of the project.
Two study visits to a sustainable donkey farm and some examples of green beaches in the districts of Larnaca and Famagusta enriched this mission in Cyprus.
