Canary Islands was NECSTouR Speaker to ETOA Summit in the Alps

 

 Mr Sergio Moreno Gil, Vice Minister for Tourism, Industry and Commerce at the Canary Islands has been invited by the NECSTouR strategic partner of ETOA to the "European Tourism Summit in the Alps" in Lucerne.

100 companies in tourism sign at ANVR's Sustainability event to reduce plastic waste at holiday destinations

 

100 companies and organisations from the tourism sector signed the International Tourism Plastic Pledge at ANVR’s Sustainability Event ‘collaborating on creating better places’. In doing so, they are expressing their joint commitment to reduce plastic pollution at holiday destinations worldwide.

NECSTouR Calls the European Tourism Sector for a Behavioural Change Towards Sustainability

 

On the occasion of the NECSTouR Conference "Driving Sustainable Destinations Change Through Trans-Regional Cooperation", NECSTouR launched a call for action addressed to all the European Institutions, destinations and tourism stakeholders claiming for a joint effort to achieve a behavioral change towards European Sustainable Destinations.

 

First STAR Cities stakeholders meeting in Kaunas

 

Twenty five community members participated from different Kaunas and Kaunas district areas : community managers, members of Kaunas 2022 program We, the people. Two more meetings (for representatives of the administration of Kaunas and Kaunas district municipalities, Tourism offices) of local stakeholders will be organized this year.

First STAR Cities Interregional Learning Session: Study visits, workshop and steering committee

 

The first STAR Cities Interregional Learning Session took place in Rome from 17 to 19 July 2019. The three-day event was hosted by the Lazio Region and was dedicated to study visits, a day of workshop and to finish with, the steering committee.

Representing academic experts, national tourism organisations, industry, local government and other stakeholders, the partnership models the creative collaboration needed between public and private sectors to develop better policy and tourism products. The goals of the partnership are to create actionable policy, to use smart data, analysis and actionable insights to make destinations attractive and viable places to live, work and visit in the long-term.

The Main European Tourism Regions Set the Roadmap Towards the Sustainable Tourism of Tomorrow During the 10th NECSTouR General Assembly Meeting Held in the Canary Islands

The 36 Regions members of NECSTouR approved in their General Assembly Meeting an interregional cooperation strategy to deliver rapid solutions to the common destination challenges, such as the territory preservation, managing big data and stimulating talent as drivers for the sustainability and competitiveness of the territory.

NECSTouR Recommendations to the EU Committee of the Regions on how to Address the Impact of Brexit on Tourism

Five urgent recommendations. Based on their experience and ongoing assessments and a further overview on Brexit delivered one year ago for the European Parliament (read more), the NECSTouR Regions called for the following five urgent measures:
