During the Interreg MED Urban Transport community’s workshop in Brussels, Thomas Guillot, project officer in NECSTouR, presented our good practices from Rethymno, Hamburg and Barcelona on “Mobility challenges and opportunities for Tourist Destinations”.

On 4 May, NECSTouR Vice President Mr Torrent spoke at the High-level Thematic Debate “Putting sustainable and resilient tourism at the heart of an inclusive recovery”, convened by the President of the General Assembly at the UN Headquarters in New York.

Register to the Interreg Euro-MED Academy course on Sustainable Tourism

On June 6, The Interreg Euro-Med Academy launches its free online learning program on "Sustainable Tourism and Mobility for the Mediterranean". Designed in the framework of the Interreg MED programme, by two international experts - Nagore Uresandi Espinosa PhD, CEO of IN2destinations, and Ioanna Pagoni, PhD in Civil & Transportation Engineer - the course will jointly address sustainable tourism and mobility issues.

NECSTouR Exchanges with European Hotels and Restaurants on Joint Strategies towards Tourism Recovery

On 28 April, NECSTouR Vice-President Torrent, joined the General Assembly of HOTREC in Prague. He brought an overview on how NECSTouR is accelerating the European Tourism Recovery through the implementation of the Tourism Transition Pathway and other strategies on sustainable tourism, in front of the representatives of the umbrella Association of Hotels, Restaurants, Pubs and Cafes in Europe.

The Interreg MED project HERIT DATA showcased projects results during their Final Conference held from Madrid on the 7th of April. NECSTouR president presents our strategic actions on data monitoring during Panoramed event on costal and maritime tourism

NECSTouR President Dr. Manuel Alejandro Cardenete, deputy-minister from Andalucía Region, presented the Tourism of Tomorrow Lab and data-oriented projects in the Mediterranean area during PANORAMED high-level event on coastal and maritime tourism. It was the first public event unveiling our Handbook on How to use EU recovery funds and ERDF 2021-2027 for sustainable tourism in the Mediterranean region.

NECSTouR and the other members of the Tourism Manifesto (70 public and private travel and tourism organisations) propose several amendments to the European Commission for the new EU Digital COVID Certificate Regulation with the aim to secure the freedom of movement across the continent and guarantee harmonised rules when the Certificate is in use.
