What is NECSTouR?
NECSTouR is the voice of European regions committed to economic, social and environmental sustainability through tourism – an increasingly important driver of destination competitiveness.
To help members deliver the tourism of tomorrow, NECSTouR provides an interregional cooperation strategy focused on the five key strategic approaches, known as the “Five S of sustainable tourism of Tomorrow”: Smart destinations, Sociocultural balance, Skills and talent, Safety and resilience, Statistics and measurability. These are complement two cross-cutting initiatives: The Barcelona Declaration “Better Places to Live, Better Places to Visit” and the Smart Specialisation Platform "Digitalisation and Safety for Tourism".

Europe’s travel & tourism sector calls on EU governments to chart restart plan in time for summer
NECSTouR, along with its partners in the European Tourism Manifesto alliance, have released a road map for re-opening travel and tourism in Europe.
It is made of concrete recommendations, including creation of Commission-led Task Force to restore freedom of movement.

CHARMING Villages: empowering the rural destinations of Europe
The CHARM project final conference will be held online on Tuesday the 2nd of March, starting at 10:00 AM CET. The event, hosted by NECSTouR, will features interventions from partners and villages representatives of the CHARM project from Italy, Spain, Portugal, Finland, Germany and Belgium. As well as as tourism experts and guest speakers from Visit Greenland, Visit South Limburg, Asio and the Digital Tourism Think Tank.

On the 12th of February 2021, the second Edition of the NECSTouR workshops in favour of the recovery of the tourism sector took place. Under the title “Recovery and Resilience Facility and the Cohesion Policy Funds”, it explored the available opportunities of building tourism sustainable recovery through the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) and the Cohesion Policy Funds.
