The Jacobean Year of 2021 presents a unique opportunity to call attention to the richness and diversity of the villages and places of rural areas of Galicia, not only around the Camino de Santiago, but also in the rest of Galicia, Spain or Portugal. In preparation and in order to better exploit and maximize the economic impact of the Jacobean Year 2021 on the Galician rural economy, the Directorate General for Rural Development of the Department of Rural Affairs of the Xunta de Galicia, in cooperation with other Departments (tourism, economy, etc.) and international organizations has organized a conference on rural development and tourism, which will include issues related to land mobility (in cooperation with LANDNET), demographic, tourism (rural), trade in Galician agriculture products and rural women and entrepreneurship.
The Conference will take place in the Ciudad de la Cultura (City of Culture) in Santiago de Compostela from the 5th to the 8th of November 2019
NECSTouR Secretariat will intervene on the Roundtable about "Development Plans on Rural Tourism".
