NECSTouR signs the HOTREC Sustainability Charter on the Use od Sustainable Energy in the Hospitality Sector

NECSTouR is one of the signatory’s organisations of the HOTREC Sustainability Charter "Promoting the use of Sustainable Energy and Improving Energy Efficiency in the Hospitality Sector".
The aim of this Charter is to share information, exchange best-practices, promote energy efficient solutions and facilitate the establishments of partnerships which will help to improve energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in hospitality and tourism businesses.
The Initiative is promoted by HOTREC, the Association representing the hotel, restaurant and café industry at European level and bringing together 44 national associations representing the interest of this industry in 30 different European countries.
The signatories. NECSTouR has been involved by HOTREC through a multi-stakeholders approach and is one of the signing organisation of this Charter together with some of the main leading European and International Tourism Organisation, such as the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), the European Travel Commission (ETC), the European Alliance of Companies for Energy Efficiency in Buildings (EuroACE), the European Alliance to Save Energy (EU-ASE), EuroCommerce, the European Tourism Association, METRO AG and SMEunited.
NECSTouR Commitment. As signatory organisation, NECSTouR committed to:
- Inform HOTREC of its activities and products which are relevant to help improve energy efficiency and consequently reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the hospitality/tourism sector;
- Inform HOTREC of its existing programmes developed where the participation of the hospitality industry would be welcome;
- Provide to HOTREC relevant contacts at national level to help develop local partnerships on energy efficiency, sustainable energy use and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in local businesses.
HOTREC Commitment. From his side, HOTREC will spread among its member associations any existing actions, energy efficient products and renewable energy solutions developed by NECSTouR and the other signatories’ organisations. Moreover, it will facilitate the establishment of partnerships which will help to improve energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in local businesses.
Guidance and Solutions. HOTREC just published also an informative brochure, providing Guidance and Solutions to raise Energy Efficiency in the European Hospitality Industry.
