NECSTouR, the Network of European Regions for Sustainable and Competitive Tourism, is a Brussels-based non-profit association. With our network of 41 Regions in Europe, around 30 academic organizations, and tourism-related business associations from around 20 countries within the European Economic Area, we work on a smarter and more sustainable approach to tourism development.

We are looking for a motivated individual to join our team in Brussels, to manage communication activities.

Position: Network Marketing and Communications Manager

Seniority level: Manager

Location: Brussels office of NECSTouR in the Visit Flanders premises.

Tasks and responsibilities

The Marketing and Communications Manager will manage the communication activities of the association. The work consists of:

• Shaping and implementing the NECSTouR’s Communication Strategy.
• Performing internal and external communications activities. The Marketing & Communications Manager will take responsibility for the overall NECSTouR media visibility, incl. offline appearance and the digital presence within different channels, such as social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Flickr, etc.), websites, newsletters and the press.
• Coordination of these activities within the organization and with other partners.
• Building up the communication network internally.
• Coaching and guiding members and associates in communication aspects and making sure all communication activities keep NECSTouR with the brand communication guidelines.

The main daily tasks will be to:

• Develop and implement an external communication plan: agree on specific communication deliverables with NECSTouR’ Secretariat and members, engaging them in the communication activities as active ambassadors
• Work on shared content that can be utilized by Secretariat and NECSTouR’ members
• Activate internal communication network by setting up required ways of working (e g. internal meetings and necessary internal communication platforms)
• Manage internal knowledge exchange & content management platform/s
• Coaching members on digital and traditional communication aspects and supporting them in performing marketing activities in an effective and impactful way as part of their membership activities and in alignment with NECSTouR’s priorities

Profile and skills

The Marketing & Communications Manager of NECSTouR needs to have the following skills and understanding:

• Capability to work independently and coordinate work of internal network;
• Eminent employment history in digital and traditional marketing and communications, preferably within a dynamic and multicultural environment;
• Great project management and network coordination skills;
• Knowledge of the European Tourism Policy, EU tourism agenda, and sustainable tourism development is a great advantage;
• Excellence in English language is required, and every other European language is welcome!
• Outstanding interpersonal skills, easy to communicate with the organization, its associates, and external partners.
