The Global Ecotourism Forum held in Barcelona will serve as a platform to evaluate the achievements and challenges in ecotourism since the 2002 Quebec Convention. This forum provides an opportunity to share successful practices from around the world, and collaboratively develop a set of recommendations and a strategic roadmap for the next ten years.
The event will bring together a diverse range of participants, including international tour operators, protected area and land stewardship managers, and representatives from intergovernmental and non-profit organizations such as IUCN, WTO, GSTC, and Green Destinations. It will also welcome public institutions and government officials, both political and technical, as well as ecotourism experts, advisors, and young professionals. In addition, the event will engage ecotourism entrepreneurs and practitioners, research centers, universities, and students, along with ecotourism associations, organizations, and media and opinion leaders who play a key role in shaping public awareness and discourse. NECSTouR will be actively present at the forum.
