It was a great opportunity to share the NECSTouR 2030 Pathway with an engaged audience of ecotourism professionals:
💬Our Project Manager Adriana Tramullas De Nys representing the NECSTouR Climate Hub at the roundtable on “Inspiring experiences and innovation in ecotourism to address the need for resilience in the face of climate change” alongside Josep Rodríguez, Mariona Salvatella, Asier Hilario and José Luis Rivera. Adriana highlighted how structured climate action planning, using tools from the Sustainable Tourism Community, and cooperation facilitated through our Climate Hub can support the implementation of climate goals at DMO level.
🌿The good practices from our members are the best illustration:
✅ Normandie Tourisme “Low carbon rate”, incentivising sustainable mobility in tourist and leisure attractions.
✅ Toerisme Vlaanderen – VISITFLANDERS “A guest in the landscape”, an inspirational guide to sustainable nature experiences.
✅ VisitScotland “Business Support Hub”, a comprehensive webpage offering practical guidance, resources, and actionable steps to help businesses integrate responsible tourism practices.
💡NECSTouR’s Strategy Director, Cristina Nuñez, highlighted the NECSTouR Tourism of Tomorrow Lab’s vision in the roundtable “Policies and Development Models for Innovative Digital Ecotourism” moderated by Damià Serrano Miracle (PhD) together with Xavier Garcia, Rafael de Villasante García Montse Giró Torrens. Cristina’s contribution focused on sharing the experience of NECSTouR Regions in systematically measuring tourism impacts by combining official statistics with real-time data for more effective destination governance and conscious marketing.
How is the Tourism of Tomorrow Lab driving the NECSTouR Regions’ data agenda?
☑️ A common “Data Pathway 2030” for the 44 NECSTouR Regions to measure and compare tourism sustainability to inform policies and implement projects
☑️ Empowering destination managers and policymakers in data interpretation for informed decision making
☑️ Representing the voice of Regional Destinations in strategic European projects such as D3HUB – EU Competence Centre to support data management in tourism destinations and DEPLOYTOUR-Deployment European Tourism Data Space.
We sincerely thank Direcció General de Turisme, Agència Catalana de Turisme / Catalan Tourist Board Generalitat de Catalunya and Turisme Diputació Barcelona for making NECSTouR part of this meaningful event, an indispensable alliance between Tourism and Nature Departments around a common roadmap.
