
The Annual Meeting of the Sustainable Tourism Community of the Interreg Euro-MED Programme took place on 1–2 October in Tirana, Albania.
This Annual Meeting builds on the 1st Community Meeting held in April 2024 in Rome, where the first 10 projects were welcomed and integrated into the Mission’s activities.
In Tirana, the Community has now expanded to include 10 new Thematic Projects and 2 Strategic Territorial Projects, reaching a total of 22 projects. The meeting provided an important opportunity to strengthen synergies among projects, support their implementation through the governance projects of the Mission, and enhance coordination and institutional capacity to make Mediterranean tourism greener, smarter, and more resilient.

Another highlight of this year’s programme was the launch of the Interreg Euro-MED Academy, a new initiative designed to provide targeted training sessions on a wide range of sustainable tourism topics. The Academy will build capacity, support innovation, and empower stakeholders throughout the region.
