New Survey Launched: The FACILITATE EU project calls on stakeholders to help define the next era of tourism data

The FACILITATE project launched a comprehensive Stakeholder & Needs Assessment Survey, calling on tourism stakeholders across Europe to help shape the tools, trainings and community that will underpin the European Tourism Data Space (ETDS) and related digital initiatives.

Help shape FACILITATE and its training materials to benefit from the European Tourism Data Space

Co-funded by the European Union, FACILITATE was officially launched on 1 November 2025. By connecting stakeholders with the tools and services being developed across Europe’s evolving tourism data landscape, the project aims to build a lasting, pan-European community committed to a more resilient, sustainable and data-driven tourism ecosystem. The project is funded under the European Union’s PPPA-2024-SKILL-FOR-TOURISM call and will run for twenty-four months.

The survey invites input from tourism stakeholders, including Destination Management Organisations (DMOs), SMEs, public authorities, tech providers, data holders, industry associations and academic institutions, to ensure that emerging data initiatives are tailored to real-world needs. The FACILITATE Stakeholder & Needs Assessment Survey is available online and will remain open until 9 March 2026.

By spending just 15 minutes on the survey, participants will directly influence:

  • The development of practical guidelines for accessing and benefiting from the European Tourism Data Space (ETDS), the European Competence Centre and the Pact for Skills.
  • The design of targeted training and capacity-building services, including a modular MOOC for DMOs and SMEs.
  • The creation of a lasting community across Europe’s tourism data ecosystem.

“Europe’s tourism sector stands at a pivotal moment,” said, Dolores Ordoñez, Project Coordinator at AnySolution. “With initiatives like the European Tourism Data Space taking shape, we have an unprecedented opportunity to unlock the power of shared data for better decision-making, improved visitor experiences and progress toward the green transition. But to get it right, we need to hear from the people on the ground who will use these tools every day.”

FACILITATE builds on and complements existing initiatives such as D3HUB or DEPLOYTOUR, which is working to establish the basis of a common European tourism data space through pilots in five European regions. Together, these projects are laying the foundation for a more connected, efficient, and data-driven European travel ecosystem.

The project consortium, coordinated by AnySolution, brings together DIH Tourism 4.0 from the Czech Republic, the communication agency Scholz and Friends from Berlin, NECSTouR, Turismo y Deporte de Andalucía, Breda University of Applied Sciences and associated partners Sociedade Portuguesa de Inovação and Lapland University of Applied Sciences.
