Smart cooperation in Coastal and Maritime Tourism: Encouraging Transnational Partnerships through Clusters & Networks

The context

This is in line with action four of the initiatives to overcome sector fragmentation outlined in the Communication, 'A European Strategy for more growth and jobs in coastal and maritime tourism'.

 

This conference aimed to strengthen the role of cluster organisations and networks as drivers for growth and jobs in the maritime and coastal tourism sectors in Europe. It also explored cluster-driven linkages with related sectors such as creative industries, marine and maritime heritage, and fishing activities.

 

How did NECSTouR contribute?

 

NECSTouR presented the Coastal and Maritime Tourism regional cooperation existing in the network through the Blue Growth working group, especially during the development of the the ex-ante position paper  on the COM (2014)86.

NECSTouR participated to the Session “Building and Strengthening Partnerships in European Networks” by the hand of Flanders Region.

 

6 NECSTouR Good practices: Andalusia Region, Basque Country Region, Galicia Region, Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region and Odyssea, where showcased, and MITOMED project was introduced as a clear example or regional cooperation in Coastal and Maritime destinations.
