Digitalization and Technology for Travel SMEs and Destinations
The Andalucia Lab is a department of the Andalusian Tourism Board that aims to build competitive and sustainable destinations by boosting the digital and tech skills of SMEs and destinations.
In order to achieve this, the Andalusia Lab has used different tools, including workshops on digital skills and technology, personalised sessions for tourism professionals, and demos aimed at creating awareness of available tech solutions.
Moreover, the Andalucia Lab has invested in co-working activities in order to facilitate collaboration among the enterprises, and has also created an Andalucia Hub in order to attract tech talent to the region and help enterprises grow through innovative solutions. It is evident that the crisis has been an opportunity to invest in the digitalisation of SMEs.
This good practice has been presented by Mr. Jose Luis Cordoba, Managing Director of Andalucia’s Tourism Innovation Centrer at the virtual Conference: "Tourism and the COVID-19 Recovery: The Role of Data and Innovation in Driving a Sustainable Recovery" organised by Scotland House Brussels.
