VisitScotland plans to use data to predict future tourism demand and capacity through the development of a decision-enhancement tool.
This tool will enable the organisation to identify and anticipate tourism infrastructure needs, in order to prioritise opportunities for investment in Scotland’s tourism infrastructure.
This will help to allocate public resources in a more efficient way, provide a better experience for visitors and more proactively manage the hidden impacts of tourism.
In summary, the tool will use traditional and new data sources to make data-based decisions that will help tourism stakeholders welcome back visitors in a more safe and sustainable way.
