NECSTouR Permanent Secretariat Kindly Welcomes our new Communication Assistant!

Hello, my name is Clara Morales Llobet, and I will be the new Communications Assistant seconded by the Catalan Tourist Board to engage the NECSTouR members in the 2030 Pathway’s Process until next February.

Some of my tasks will include:

  • Creating and publishing social media content for our corporate channels (LinkedIn and X).

  • Updating NECSTouR’s website

  • Crafting the biweekly newsletter “Live from Brussels”.

  • Communicating NECSTouR’s events and activities to all members.

I was born and raised in Barcelona, Spain, but after finishing high school, I decided I wanted to experience my own little adventure, so I packed my bags and moved to Vancouver, Canada. After living there for a year, learning English and working sporadically as a waiter, I finally started my Bachelor of Journalism at Thompson Rivers University. During my studies, in addition to all my journalism and communications courses, I was able to take an array of interesting classes ranging from sociology and psychology to philosophy and political sciences, which I would like to believe helped me understand the world a little better. Graduation came, and I decided to move back to Barcelona temporarily, but life had other plans. After a few months, COVID hit, and the world was left on pause, so I decided to pursue a master's degree in public relations in Barcelona.

During my master’s degree, I was able to do a four-month internship at a communications agency, and eventually, I had the opportunity to work as an intern at the communications department of the Catalan Tourist Board, my introduction to the tourism industry. After an intense year there, learning the ins and outs of tourism, I’m excited to start this new chapter in my life with NECSTouR by the hand of the Catalan Tourist Board.

I look forward to working with you to keep developing a more sustainable and competitive tourism model throughout Europe, learning and finding inspiration on how you communicate your best practices, and reinforcing the cooperation between NECSTouR members and the other leading European regional authorities on Sustainable Tourism. Please don't hesitate to contact me at clara.morales@necstour.eu.
