Tourism Innovation Summit 2020

TIS - Tourism Innovation Summit is a Conference and Showroom about technology for the tourism and travel industry. 2020 edition took place on 25th to 27th of November 2020 in Seville - Spain.
 

 

NECSTouR Executive Committee agrees on which actions to focus efforts for Regional Recovery

NECSTouR Executive Committee met last 28th of October to debrief on the meeting with the Director General of DG Internal Market – Ms Kerstin Jorna, follow up of the European Tourism Convention and agree the next strategic actions of NECSTouR.

 

NECSTouR ToT Lab rewarded by the European Commission

 

The NECSTouR project Tourism of Tomorrow Lab has just been rewarded by the European Commission. It will shortly benefit from expertise business and legal advisory support the commercial running of the project in the market.

 

European Tourism Convention

In the Communication Tourism and transport in 2020 and beyond, adopted on 13 May 2020, the European Commission announced a European Tourism Convention to launch a dialogue on sustainable recovery and the strategic orientations for the tourism of tomorrow, and to guide future work and cooperation on tourism (towards a European Agenda for Tourism 2050).

Andalusia: COVID-19 – Tourism Contigency Plan (Update 27/04)

Junta de Andalucía has created a task force to overcome the crisis appointing experts from different departments: among others Marketing, Communication, Statistics and Big Data, from different organizational structures in the Andalusia Regional Government. This multidisciplinary team continuously analyses the evolution of the pandemic and its effects on the World, Spanish and Andalusian tourism industry. The Regional Government of Andalusia has drawn up a Contingency Plan based on the results of the first estimations on the possible evolution of tourism in the region by 2020, to which 300 million € have been allocated.

Insights from the NECSTouR and Amadeus Workshop "Smart use of big data for sustainable management and promotion of destinations"

NECSTouR destination Managers specialised in data management, publicity and marketing and Amadeus gathered in Marbella to discuss on how to smartly use data for online promotion and sustainable management for the promotion of their destination and to find out more about the relevance and sources of data and concrete case studies from other European Destinations.

Boosting industrial transformation through Interregional cooperation and S3: Digitalisation, clusters and smart specialisation

This workshop will discuss how to boost industrial transformation by linking digitalisation, clusters and smart specialisation. The session will explore practical cases that support digital transformation by connecting ecosystems and clusters, including in so-called lagging regions. The cases will cover digital innovation hubs, European Cluster Partnerships, ERDF investments and interregional partnerships under the Smart Specialisation Platform for Industrial Modernisation.

The NECSTouR Tourism of Tomorrow Laboratory

Tourism is the third biggest industry in Europe. While regional and national stakeholder and activities support tourism businesses, accessing international investment channels is still challenging taking into account that tourism companies are mostly SMEs
