The Sustainable Tourism community of the Interreg MED Programme have been invited to participate to the CETT Smart Tourism Congress. The international congress is divided in three sessions: Professional Day, Entrepreneurs Day and Academic Day. Several members and projects of NECSTouR are involved during the first one, including of course CETT, the main organiser, then Andalucia, Tuscany and the Barcelona Province (DIBA), lead partner of the Horizontal Project and moderator of the first workshop.
Smart tourism tools in the Mediterranean Destinations
The first workshop of the congress - and the professional session - will take place right after a keynote from a represent of DG REGIO. Josep Rodríguez, responsible for International Relations at the Tourism Department of the DIBA (Diputació de Barcelona) and MED Sustainable Tourism Community Coordinator, will moderate the workshop. The goal is to present tools (Tourism flows regulation; Governance and efficiency in tourism; Generating knowledge for decision making; Big Data and Open Data) developed by three modular projects of the MED Sustainable Tourism Community.
Two NECSTouR regions are engaged to represent projects followed by NECSTouR since their inception : Ana Moniche, from the Andalucia Region, will talk about MITOMED+ and representing HERIT-DATA, Manuela Bigi, manager at the Economic promotion and Tourism department at the Tuscany Region, will be present.
The Smart Tourism Congress is organised by CETT (Barcelona School of Tourism, Hospitality and Gastronomy), an academic member of NECSTouR. The event is an international congress gathering academics and professionals, focussing on innovation, sustainability, technology and governance, usually taking place in Barcelona (Catalonia, Spain), will be held online this year, with the collaboration of the DIBA and the support of the UNWTO.
