International conference on Destination Branding Heritage and Authenticity (call for Papers)


Authors are invited to submit abstracts in the Congress web site: Deadline: 15th April. 

The Conference will take place at the University of Santiago de Compostela, and is promoted by the European Journal of Tourism, Hospitality and Recreation (EJTHR) and co-organized by:

• CETUR - The Tourism Research Unit at the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain);

• GITUR - Tourism Research Unit at the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria (Peniche - Portugal);

NECSTouR - European Tourism Policy

A great number of private and public stakeholders at international, European, national, regional and local level are involved in the development of tourism. Given the complexity of tourism which is not easy to separate from other economic sectors, the stakeholders must develop partnerships if they want to stay ahead of competition. The success of the renewed EU policy depends therefore on the active involvement of all tourism stakeholders.

Calypso Workshop 2011

The first Calypso Workshop of 2011 was held in collaboration with Kainuu Region, the European Commission and Able Access for All Exchange (AAAE), one of the projects awarded by Calypso co-financing. Finnish and European associations, stakeholders and Member States directly or indirectly involved in social tourism issues attended this event such as the International Social Tourism Organisation.

European Research NETwork for Sustainable Tourism - ERNEST


JOINT CALL FOR PROPOSAL 2010 in the evaluation stage


9 transnational project proposals have been received within the established deadline of December 20TH, 2010, and the 4 European regions involved have carried out the evaluation procedures

The ERNEST partners have launched a joint call for interregional Collaborative Research Projects (CRPs) in the research area: "Sustainable tourism", with the aim to create collaborative, trans-national research opportunities that will derive new insights from research into sustainable tourism.
