We are delighted to announce that John Fitzgibbon has joined us as our new Managing Director.

John brings extensive experience in European partnership management, EU affairs, and project coordination, making him a great match to lead NECSTouR into the next phase of its development. In his new role, John will:

• Implement NECSTouR's strategic vision
• Coordinate ongoing and upcoming projects across our network
• Further develop NECSTouR’s membership base
• Organise key events, board meetings and General Assemblies
• Oversee financial and resource management
• Lead our HR and talent management development
• Represent NECSTouR to the European Institutions and internationally

A native of the UK and committed European, John holds degrees from the University of Southampton and an MSc in European Policy from the University of Bristol, UK. His career has spanned both public and private sectors in the UK and Brussels. John led the Southern England/Hampshire Brussels Office for 15 years collaborating with EU regions, managing EU projects and guiding members during the UK's EU withdrawal. Most recently, John worked on communications at the European association EPSO, the European Plant Science Organisation.

We look forward to working with John to strengthen the NECSTouR community and continue fostering sustainable and competitive tourism among Europe’s regions.
